CoW Protocol stands as the second-largest DEX aggregator by monthly volume and is the leading intents-based exchange. MEV Blocker contributes to approximately 4% of all Ethereum transactions, making it a category leader. CoW AMM is the only AMM live today that protects LPs from LVR (loss-versus rebalancing).

About the Role

Location: Fully remote team preferred to be based in Europe or remote +/- 5 hours CEST time\
Position: Full-time contractor

At CoW Protocol, numerous opportunities exist to work with data daily. We are searching for a Data Engineer to aid in extracting critical data from the Ethereum blockchain. Your main responsibilities will be creating and maintaining data pipelines, building our data infrastructure, and supporting team data needs.

What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with different stakeholders within the company to understand and meet their data needs.
- Create, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and queries for easy data consumption. This includes designing and implementing scalable data storage and processing solutions, setting up monitoring and alerting systems, and ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Build infrastructure required for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources.
- Take end-to-end ownership of all engineering aspects of the solution. This includes deploying inclusive data quality checks, tests, and code review processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Ensure that the company’s data handling processes are secure and compliant with relevant regulations. This includes implementing appropriate access controls, encryption, and other security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
- Engage with the Ethereum community, stay updated on trends, and learn about new analytical tools that assist in extracting relevant data from the blockchain.

Who You Are

• Possess a strong technical background with a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• Experienced in designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining efficient data architectures.
• Proficient in Python and/or other modern programming languages.
• Skilled in querying databases and data modeling, particularly with SQL and relational database experience.
• Experienced in working with blockchain data from 3rd party providers (such as Dune Analytics, Etherscan, Coingecko, etc.).
• Knowledgeable about cloud computing platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Passionate about numbers and a firm believer in data-driven decision-making, capable of analyzing and interpreting complex data sets and deriving meaningful insights.
• Self-motivated, proactive team player with a creative approach to problem-solving, able to multitask and work independently.
• Enthusiastic about crypto and blockchain technology, strongly believing in its potential to transform the industry.
• Committed to engineering best practices such as code reviews, testing, continuous integration, and delivery.
