Job Description

BOB is in search of an APAC marketing wizard. This is our inaugural APAC-focused marketing hire as we aim to increase our emphasis on a vital region for both the Bitcoin & Ethereum communities. The APAC Marketing Manager will assist the head of marketing in crafting and implementing the APAC marketing strategy for BOB, covering messaging, media, content, and localisation approaches. Key markets include China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. The head of marketing operates from the UAE, requiring some timezone overlap.

The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of the Bitcoin and Ethereum communities within the APAC region, coupled with extensive experience across the marketing spectrum. This will enable them to provide clear recommendations for amplifying brand visibility and engagement in the region.

Strategic Planning: Assist the head of marketing in devising the global BOB marketing strategy, recommending specific strategies and tactics to effectively highlight BOB’s innovations, partnerships, and mission in the APAC region.

Market Knowledge: Supply the BOB marketing team with research, insights, and trends from the blockchain industry and target audiences in our priority markets, fostering the development of marketing strategies and tactics that resonate locally.

Project Management: Oversee the development and execution of all APAC communications across all channels, from conception to launch, on budget. This includes engaging internal and external stakeholders as necessary.

Collaboration: Coordinate closely with the global marketing, social media, product, and BD teams to ensure the delivery of a clear, accurate, and cohesive brand message.

Connections: Leverage a comprehensive network of local contacts within the APAC region to support the implementation of the marketing plan, including PR, KOLs, translation, events, media, etc.

Community Growth & Activation: Aid the community team with the recruitment and management of regional community advocates or ambassadors, driving the growth and engagement of local BOB communities.

Measurement and Optimization: Track the performance of all APAC marketing activities against agreed KPIs, offering recommendations for ongoing optimization and improvement of the strategy.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 6+ years in advertising or marketing management, with a strong preference for experience in the cryptocurrency or blockchain industry.

  • Channel Knowledge: Expertise in various media channels. Being a generalist in a small team, cross-channel experience will be beneficial.

  • Crypto Savvy: Proven knowledge and passion for blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and the wider web3 universe. Candidates with experience in both the Bitcoin and Ethereum ecosystems will be preferred.

  • Management: Skilled at working in cross-functional teams and building robust relationships with senior stakeholders. Proficient at managing agencies and strategic vendors, and handling budgets.

  • Communication Mastery: Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts and present them clearly.

  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment, juggling multiple projects while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and passion for meeting deadlines.

  • Detail-Orientation: Strategic, proactive in identifying opportunities, and adept at problem-solving.

  • Fluency: English language fluency is essential for global team communication. Proficiency in additional languages of key markets, particularly Mandarin, is a significant advantage.
