The Purpose of This Role

As part of the Green Meadows program within the Fidelity Center for Applied Technologies (FCAT), the candidate will join a team focused on building a modern brokerage platform from scratch. FCAT is embarking on a unique journey, an event that typically happens only once every 20-30 years within an organization, to create a new Brokerage platform from the ground up. This new platform will be entirely on the cloud, offering various new and improved features to the end customer.

The Value You Deliver

The ideal candidate will serve as a Senior Developer for the squad that builds the web applications for Operations users and end customers. Responsibilities include designing and developing features, managing code reviews and deployments, and coordinating with various collaborators for development. The candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, core-brokerage financial industry domain and learn new functionalities and technologies.

The Skills that are Key to this role

  • Experience: Developing and maintaining applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Vue, React JS) with a preference for Angular experience.
  • JavaScript and TypeScript: A proven, practical understanding.
  • HTML and CSS: Proficiency, including an understanding of accessibility needs and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Git/Version control: Experience working with these tools.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups, both in person and virtually, in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Scalability: Ability to apply a long-term mentality to help produce scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • User Interfaces: Experience in developing and designing UI using wireframes, visual designs, and UX specifications & principles.
  • Quality Commitment: Dedication to high standards.
  • Teamwork: Enthusiasm for collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other partners.
  • Learning and Growth: A desire to challenge yourself and expand your knowledge of both business and technology.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Financial Knowledge: Working knowledge of basic investment terms and practices is desirable.

Your experience with the following will be a plus:

  • CI/CD: Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and driving automation.
  • Professional Development: 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-first mentality with a passion for developing user-friendly web applications that solve real-life problems.
  • Financial Technology: Familiarity with financial technology and the stock market.
  • User Interface Design: Experience using Figma or similar tools to design user interfaces.
