About the Role

Outlier Ventures is on the lookout for a seasoned Social Media Manager to join our team. As both a Web3 expert and social media enthusiast, you will play a pivotal role in bolstering Outlier Ventures' social media presence and managing our community. You will create a captivating, continuous narrative and perspective tailored for a technology and Web3-focused audience.

Your duties will involve owning the social media strategy and calendar, ensuring the timely publication of cross-platform content, briefing the marketing team on content requirements, and generating data-driven reports on performance and insights. The goal is to expand the Outlier brand and cement our authority in the Web3 space. Mastery in content scheduling, vendor management, content production, cross-department coordination, and data analytics is key.

Your role at Outlier Ventures will be integral in driving brand growth by proactively planning for and responding to business and market changes. You will elevate our brand visibility, liaise with potential partners and founders, and engage a global audience interested in Web3 and emerging technologies. Active collaboration with cross-functional teams, including portfolio, marketing, accelerator stakeholders, and other service lines, is essential for this role.

Role Responsibilities

General

  • Be a self-starter, assuming ownership of your vertical and conveying progress with proactive transparency.
  • Create and oversee a strategic editorial calendar for Outlier Ventures, balancing pre-planned and reactive content inventories.
  • Maintain editorial control of our primary channels: X, LinkedIn, Farcaster, Telegram, and YouTube.
  • Partner with the marketing department to ensure a consistent production timeline cadence.
  • Collaborate with the communications and campaigns teams to execute multichannel announcements.
  • Strategize and implement impactful content series and promotions in collaboration with the broader business.
  • Coordinate with in-house experts, portfolio companies, and external guests both before and after production.
  • Conduct post-campaign evaluations and collect feedback for continual improvement.
  • Manage Outlier’s community interactions across owned channels.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and social media best practices.
  • Handle business and stakeholder relationship navigation.
  • Cultivate relationships and a network within the Web3 events community.
  • Report to the Head of Marketing and work with departments across the company.

Virtual Events

  • Possess experience in producing live streaming content, podcast recordings, and X Spaces.
  • Manage virtual event platforms and technology, ensuring peak functionality and resolving technical issues as needed.
  • Monitor live comments and community participation to foster dialogue and engagement.
  • Develop and execute pre-event rehearsal plans.
  • Oversee a comprehensive pre-production process, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring all deadlines are met with participants, guests, internal stakeholders, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • Profound expertise in social media management and production.
  • Impeccable English writing proficiency.
  • Demonstrated experience within Web3 marketing.
  • Solid experience with Google Docs and Notion.
  • Ability to set clear strategic objectives for optimized performance.
  • Excellent time and project management, resourcefulness, and initiative.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the capacity to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interactions with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Capability to define and report on metrics and KPIs.
  • Attention to detail, self-motivation, and a proactive work approach.
  • Results-driven team player who can excel in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Commissioning and briefing experience with a network of suppliers, vendors, and freelancers.

Education / Experience

  • Proven experience in planning and executing social media strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong project management skills with the capability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in virtual event platforms. Experience in live broadcasting is a plus.
  • Previous involvement in the Web3 industry is preferred.
