Wintermute Ventures, the investment branch of Wintermute, leverages our leading DeFi trading expertise and ecosystem-wide liquidity solutions to support promising early-stage Web3 ventures. Role Overview

As an integral part of our investment team, your primary focus will be on direct investment in growth-stage technology/blockchain companies in Asia. You will contribute to expanding our investment portfolio, building a pipeline of new investments, participating in investment meetings, and establishing a strong network with industry founders.

Responsibilities

Your role will require flexibility and adaptability, including but not limited to:

• Sourcing: Identify new investment opportunities within crypto infrastructure (DeFi, CeFi, etc.) and evaluate inbound leads by meeting with entrepreneurs.
• Analysis: Conduct market and investment trend analysis in the blockchain industry, including market research, data collection, and feasibility studies on potential blockchain investments.
• Due Diligence: Perform due diligence on investment prospects to guide decisions, including market research, product reviews, competitive analysis, metrics analysis, customer reviews, and technical diligence.
• Portfolio Work: Engage with Wintermute portfolio founders to provide support.
• Ecosystem Building: Actively contribute to the blockchain/cryptocurrency community by organizing events, participating in local gatherings, and exploring ways to enhance the Wintermute Ventures franchise.
• Admin: Support administrative tasks such as liaising with auditors, custody providers, cap table management software, and general administrative aid as required.

Hard Skills Requirements

• Experience with DeFi protocols and a native understanding of blockchain technology, including reviewing white papers or crypto projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of venture capital and crypto deal terms.
• A minimum of 3 years in consulting, investing, or high-growth tech, with financial modeling ability.
• Capability to think analytically and strategically about investment decisions and assist existing portfolio companies.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
• Strong written and analytical skills for deal analysis and internal reporting.
• Excellent relationship-building skills, enthusiastic about networking with project founders and the broader community.
• A demonstrated history of being proactive.

Bonus Requirements

• A technical background or experience in data science is advantageous.
• Strong crypto network is a plus.
• Former experience working in the crypto industry at an infrastructure entity (custodian, trading firm, exchange, etc.).
